WECA Campaigns

WECA

• Consults with the local community through public meetings and forums, workshops, surveys, and interviews
  
• Mobilises public opinion through events and media activities
  Advocates on behalf of the local community through submissions, objections and articulation of policies to express community views
  
• Engages with governments and private developers through participation and representation in relevant committees and studies and via direct negotiation

Our Campaigns

The association currently has campaign groups focusing on areas of local concern including:

• Local Plan/Development Applications
  
• Traffic and Access
• Montagu-Riverside precinct
  
• West End Central
• Parks
• Housing
  
• Fund raising and Membership
  
• Connecting and Celebrating.

How You Can Participate

• Join - become a financial member and watch the progress
  
• Build awareness - bring along a neighbour or other community person to a WECA forum
  
• Participate - join a WECA group working on West End issues or WECA activities
  
• Recruit - approach people to become members (10 x $20 family memberships = $200 to pay for insurance, advertising, research etc)
